Abstract

This document describes the necessary steps to setup and embedded Linux-based system using the Terasic DE1_SoC board (DE1). The document has been specifically written to use a DE1-SOC development system based on the Cyclone V SoC. The tutorial shows how to develop from scratch an embedded system using HPS and FPGA resources. The tutorial includes how to generate the Embedded Linux with Buildroot and how to develop a specific peripheral and the Linux Device Drivers.
