Abstract

The present project develops Blair’s work about seismic radiation produced by a explosive column. To that end, a detailed study of the equations introduced by Blair, their variables and constants, and the resolution methods will be done, in order to replicate the model and compare the analytical results with real measurements. The model is written in scale independent terms with the aim of having a general equation that can be used for different charge lengths and diameters. An elastic medium will be supposed characterized by the seismic waves velocities on it. Furthermore, the displacement will be calculated for a mesh of points in order to obtain a solution applicable to a real case as, for example, a blast with several boreholes drilled. RESUMEN El presente proyecto desarrolla el trabajo de Blair acerca de la radiación sísmica que produce una columna de explosivo. Para ello, se realizará un estudio detallado de las ecuaciones que Blair plantea, sus variables y constantes, y métodos de resolución; con el objetivo último de replicarlo y poder comparar los resultados obtenidos analíticamente con medidas reales. El modelo se plantea de forma adimensional con el objeto de poder generalizar la ecuación para cargas de distintas longitudes y diámetros. Se supondrá un medio elástico caracterizado por la velocidad de las ondas sísmicas en él. Además, se calculará el desplazamiento para una malla de puntos para poder obtener una solución aplicable a un caso real como pueda ser una voladura con varios barrenos perforados.
