Abstract

Mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets are each day more present in our lives. Most of these devices use the Android operating system (OS), becoming the most popular OS for mobile devices. For these devices, there is a huge offer of application software that provide answers to different needs of their users. The aim of this study is to analyze the personal characteristics of mobile-device users in relation to the type of apps that they use. This study intends to research the different personal characteristics that become determining factors for the adoption of productivity apps in Android devices in working individuals. In order to achieve this, a combination of personality factors, sociodemographic variables and Internet usage is analyzed using fuzzy set Qualitative Comparative Analysis (fsQCA) in order to study different combination of variables. The results show the importance of distinct personality traits ?extroversion, agreeableness and non-neuroticism - and sociodemographic variables - gender and educational level - to understand the adoption of these services.
