Having said the above and seen the high number of incidents and accidents at work that year after year show the statistics of this sector, it is not unfounded to understand construction as a dangerous activity. If it is not incomprehensible, it draws attention to the fact that Royal Decree 1627/97 of October 24, which establishes minimum safety and health provisions in construction works does not prevent a young person from giving his first work steps providing their services in the work. In the year 2007 it has to be the IV General Agreement of the construction sector, which in a "blunt" way prohibits hiring people who have not yet reached the age of 18, the minimum age to work in construction that until then was in 16 years old. It is hard to understand that 10 years have to pass before, allow the expression, put a stop to and tackle such an irrational situation: there is no reason to describe it in this way. However, today, in construction, there is still another Kafkaesque situation, no less absurd or anguished: the presence on the work of foreign workers who neither speak nor understand a minimum of any of the official languages of this country. date_type: published date: 2019 place_of_pub: Madrid pagerange: 45-45 event_title: 2º Congreso Internacional de Gestión en Edificación (BIMIC 2019) event_location: Madrid, España event_dates: 8-10 May 2019 event_type: conference institution: Edificacion department: Construcciones refereed: TRUE isbn: 978-84-16397-91-4 book_title: Proceedings citation: Caldentey, Eduardo and Gil Carrillo, Francisco and González García, María de las Nieves (2019).
