Las actividades en el medio natural en el distrito de Hortaleza: institutos públicos, profesorado y recursos

Abstract

RESUMEN
Las Actividades en el Medio Natural se han ido implantando de manera progresiva en el currículo oficial de la Educación Secundaria Obligatoria como un bloque de contenidos propio a desarrollar. En estos documentos se aportan los contenidos y actuaciones con mayor o menor concreción para el desarrollo de las competencias y beneficios asociados a la realización de las Actividades en el Medio Natural. Identificamos, mediante un cuestionario aplicado a los docentes de los Institutos Públicos del distrito de Hortaleza de Madrid, las principales dificultades y necesidades surgidas en torno al desarrollo de estos contenidos, como son la formación del profesorado en aspectos específicos y de carácter práctico y la necesidad de contar con una serie de materiales e instalaciones concretos. Tras el análisis y discusión de los resultados se han planteado algunas actuaciones enfocadas a minimizar las limitaciones identificadas por los docentes y los diferentes autores. Por un lado, la mejora en la formación inicial del profesorado, así como el desarrollo de proyectos globales y grupos de trabajo entre distintos centros, ampliando el horizonte y avanzando en continuo reciclaje con la evolución de las Actividades en el Medio Natural. Por otro lado, la utilización de los recursos disponibles en los entornos cercanos al centro, con la incorporación de progresiones en cuanto a espacios y la posibilidad de contar con materiales facilitados por diversas entidades o compartidos con distintos centros.
ABSTRACT
Activities in the Natural Environment have been progressively introduced into the official curriculum of the Obligatory Secondary Education as a content block itself to develop. These documents provide the contents and actions, with greater or lesser specificity, for the development of the competences and benefits involved in carrying out Activities in the Natural Environment. By applying a questionnaire to teachers of Public Secondary Schools in the District of Hortaleza, Madrid, we could identify the main difficulties and needs arising from the development of these contents, such as the teacher training in specific and practical aspects and the need of having certain set of materials and facilities. After analysing and discussing the results, this study presents some actions focused on reducing the limitations identified by teachers and different authors. On the one hand, the improvement in the initial teacher training, as well as the development of global projects and work teams among different centres, broadening horizons and progressing in continuous updating on the evolution of the Activities in the Natural Environment. On the other hand, the utilization of resources available in environments near the centre, incorporating progress in terms of space, and the possibility of having materials provided by different entities or shared with other centres.
