The perspectives of changes in the relationships between Cuba and United States open a panorama of possibilities for developing the capacities of Cuba in maritime transportation. The geography and other objective conditions could improve the trade possibilities of Cuba if the embargo is ended. As there are so many factors that must be considered, with many interdependencies among them, a system dynamics approach is proposed for developing a model of the future of maritime transport in Cuba. The relationships were obtained from other countries that have some common points with Cuba and with the help of an econometric analysis that provides the elasticity between various factors. Scenarios and sensitive analysis give results that are quite congruent with the evolution of countries with conditions that could be considered as similar.
