Comunicación gráfica de lo intangible. Evolución de los procesos creativos en disciplinas artísticas

Abstract

Según una definición de diccionario, el arte es “la calidad, producción, expresión, o el ámbito, según los principios estéticos, de lo que es bello, atractivo o de significado más que ordinario”. Marcel Duchamp, sin embargo, prefirió otra definición, “etimológicamente hablando, la palabra arte significa hacer”. Hoy en día, la cocina no encajaría exactamente en lo que el mundo cotidiano entiende como arte. Las cuestiones que plantea Ferran Adrià en Documentando Documenta (2011) hacen evidente el tipo de artista que es. Richard Hamilton destaca que lo más extraordinario de este es su sensibilidad poética, y la calidad lírica de todo lo que hace. Si se contempla esta cuestión de una manera más analítica, cabe preguntarse qué constituye esta poesía y que tipo de relación puede existir entre la poesía y la naturaleza de las epopeyas vivas que él crea en la cocina. El arte de Ferran Adrià es la lingüística, y a través de la manipulación de la comida crea un lenguaje que puede remodelarse y revitalizarse de tal forma que sus creaciones toman lugar entre otras formas de arte. La motivación estética y ambición de elBulli de crear admiración en sus platos es similar a la que suscita un buen cuadro al ser contemplado, una Suite para Violonchelo solo de Bach al ser escuchada, o un soneto de Shakespeare al ser leído. Todos estos maestros deben concebir, componer, imaginar y presentar una sucesión de sensaciones que excite una motivación similar, y la forma en la que lo hacen se desvela a través de sus procesos creativos.

The questions raised by Ferran Adrià in Documenting Documenta defines what kind of artist he is. Richard Hamilton emphasizes that the most extraordinary thing about him is his poetic sensitivity, and the lyrical quality of everything he does. If this question is considered in a more analytical way, it is worth wondering what constitutes his poetry and what kind of relationship can exist between the poetry and the nature of the living epics that he creates in the kitchen. His meals, which are long time sequenced sessions are closer to literature than any other artistic form. The genius of Adrià lies in the development and refinement of the cooking language. On the other hand, one could say that writers use a given language to tell stories or communicate information. However, great writers find the need to adopt, change, and reinvent words; they tend to use the meaning of them so the language itself changes. Geoffrey Chaucer and William Shakespeare expanded the vocabulary of English and refined its syntax, so that the merit and beauty of a text could be recognized through its inventive rigor and the emotional content of its narrative. Ferran Adrià’s art is linguistics, and through the manipulation of food he creates a language that can be remodeled and revitalized in such a way that his creations take place among other forms of art. ElBulli’s aesthetic motivation and ambition to create admiration on their dishes is similar to the one aroused by a good painting when contemplated, a Bach Cello Suite when listened to, or a Shakespeare sonnet when read. All these masters must conceive, compose, imagine and present a succession of sensations that excite a similar motivation, and the way in which they do so is revealed through their creative processes.
