Estudio de viabilidad de la mina de carbón a cielo abierto "La Margarita" en Titiribí Colombia

Abstract

Este trabajo ha sido planteado, ante la necesidad que tenemos los ingenieros de minas, y de manera más acentuada los alumnos que cursamos estudios para obtener esta titulación, de hacer frente a los retos actuales que se presentan en nuestra profesión. Ante una labor de extracción de un determinado mineral, uno de los momentos de mayor importancia es aquel en el que el inversor decide si abordar el proyecto, poniendo en riesgo su capital y apostando por el equipo que ha desarrollado los estudios previos. Sin embargo, para llegar a este punto, se hace completamente necesaria la experiencia y buenas prácticas de un ingeniero de minas que, mediante el estudio del caso, sea capaz de evaluar el depósito mineral, determinando si se trata de una explotación viable. Como bien sabemos, para poder llevar a cabo una adecuada evaluación de un depósito es necesario trabajar y analizar una gran cantidad de información proveniente de la campaña exploratoria, haciéndose necesario el uso de herramientas que faciliten y agilicen el proceso. Surge así la idea de, aplicando un software de aplicación minera y de uso libre, hacer frente a la evaluación de un yacimiento, calculando sus reservas y determinando la viabilidad del proyecto de explotación mediante el diseño de la mina a cielo abierto, la estimación de inversiones, ingresos y costes a lo largo de la vida de la mina considerada. Para completar el estudio de viabilidad se realiza un análisis VAN-TIR con sensibilidad al parámetro relevante del precio de venta del carbón. ABSTRACT This work has been proposed, given the need we have for mining engineers, and more accentuated students who have just obtained this degree, to face the current challenges that arise in our profession. Facing the extraction of a mineral, one of the greatest importance moments is one in which the investor decides whether to approach the project, putting his capital at risk and betting on the team that has developed the previous studies. However, to reach this point, it is necessary the experience and good practices of a mining engineer who, by studying the case, is able to evaluate the mineral deposit, determining if it is a viable exploitation. As we know, to be able to carry out an adequate evaluation of a deposit it is necessary to work and analyze a large amount of information from the exploratory campaign, making it necessary to use tools that facilitate and speed up the process. This is how the idea of using a free mining software, deal with the evaluation of a deposit, calculating its reserves and determining the viability of the exploitation project through the design of the open pit mine, the estimation of investments, revenues and costs throughout the life of the mine considered. To complete the feasibility study, a VAN-TIR analysis is performed with sensitivity to the relevant parameter of the sale price of coal.
