Abstract

The development of the gastrointestinal tract (GIT) was studied in 2 broiler strains (Cobb 500 vs. Ross 308) after a feed restriction period of 6 h (dark period). The feeding program consisted in 3 commercial diets (0–10 d, 11–28 d, and 29–37 d of age) based on wheat and SBM. The light program consisted of 24 h of continuous light from 0 to 7 d and 18 h light from 8 to 37 d of age.
