Aplicación Android de gestión de libros

Abstract

Según la Real Academia Española, la palabra libro viene del latín liber, librî, y su definición es la siguiente: conjunto de muchas hojas de papel u otro material semejante que, encuadernadas, forman un volumen. En los últimos años, debido al aumento del uso de las nuevas tecnologías y dispositivos electrónicos de lectura, la lectura de libros en papel se ha reducido notablemente. Dado que una de mis principales aficiones es la lectura, y a día de hoy hay tantos libros para leer, consideraba interesante desarrollar una aplicación que sugiriese títulos en función de los gustos e intereses. El desarrollo permitirá al usuario realizar búsquedas (mediante ISBN, autor, título, género, edad, valoración, precio e idioma, entre otras opciones). Además, podrá́ tener un listado de los ejemplares ya leídos, los que están pendientes de leer y los marcados como favorito. Enfocado hacia un público más infantil, pero también útil para los adultos, pueden realizarse retos de lectura, para fomentar el hábito y el gusto por la literatura, o para encontrar nuevos libros. Y para finalizar, también podremos encontrar librerías cercanas a nuestra ubicación para tener más a mano esa información, y una pequeña librería con los libros que tenemos pendientes de leer.---ABSTRACT---According to the Royal Spanish Academy (Spanish official language institution), the word 'book' comes from the latin liber, librî, and its definition is the following: set of multiple sheets of paper or another similar material that once binded, forms a volume. In recent years, due to the use of new technologies and electronic reading devices, the paper books have decreased significantly. This, together with my passion for reading, and that there are plenty of books available to read nowadays made me consider developing an application that suggests titles according to user's preferences and interests. This application also lets the user search through their ISBN's, author, title, genre, age, rating, price and language. Furthermore, the user could have a list of ''books that I have read'', "books to read" and will be able to mark their favourites. Despite being orientated to a younger audience, this application will be also useful for adults, as they could challenge their innerselves with reading challenges that will encourage their habit and their joy for literature in addition to discover new books. Finally, we could also find nearby bookshops to our set up location for and easy access to that information, and a small bookshelf with the unread books or ''books to read''.
