Realismo del espacio escénico en La Bohème

Abstract

El presente Trabajo de Fin de Grado pretende profundizar sobre los espacios creados en escena, centrándose en un caso de estudio concreto: la ópera La Bohème de Giacomo Puccini, en la producción del escenógrafo Giancarlo del Monaco representada en el Teatro Real de Madrid en 2006. El estudio buscará un punto de convergencia entre la arquitectura y la escenografía, con el objetivo de profundizar sobre la importancia del realismo en los espacios escénicos. Para ello, se realizará un primer acercamiento al contexto y arquitectura del París del siglo XIX, con el fin de establecer comparaciones entre la realidad existente de la época y el montaje de Del Mónaco. Se estudiarán igualmente los aspectos que envuelven a la obra, destacando aquellos que hacen única y especial a La Bohème, y la fusión que Puccini crea entre el Verismo y el Romanticismo. Partiendo de esta base, el trabajo estará basado en la reconstrucción del proceso de diseño en los distintos cuadros de La Bohème, abarcando el entendimiento de los espacios arquitectónicos concebidos en escena. Dicho análisis será necesario para crear comparaciones con otras producciones escenográficas de la misma obra, que buscarán el contraste entre el Realismo y el Idealismo. Como conclusión, se pretende destacar la precisión y autenticidad con la que Del Monaco ideó su escenografía, poniendo en valor el título del presente trabajo: Realismo del espacio escénico en La Bohème. This Final Degree Project aims to deepen the spaces created on stage, focusing on a specific case study: the opera La Bohème by Giacomo Puccini, in the production of the stage designer Giancarlo del Monaco represented at the Teatro Real of Madrid in 2006. The study will seek a point of convergence between architecture and set design, with the aim of deepening the importance of realism in that particular work. For this, a first approach to the architecture of the Bohemian Paris of the XIX century will be made, in order to establish comparisons between the existing reality of the time and the staging of Del Monaco. The aspects that surround the work will also be studied, highlighting those that make La Bohème special, and the fusion that Puccini creates between Verism and Romanticism. Starting from this base, the work will be based on the reconstruction of the design process in the different paintings of La Bohème, covering the understanding of the architectural spaces conceived on stage. This analysis will be necessary to create comparisons with other scenographic productions of the same work, which will seek the contrast between Realism and Idealism. In conclusion, it is intended to highlight the precision and authenticity with which Del Monaco devised his scenery, highlighting the title of the present work: Realism of the scenic space in La Bohème.
