Online social network is playing an increasingly important role in many areas of social life. It has changed the way of communication, and various social platforms have become the main channels to obtain information, making the communication between people more convenient. And it greatly meets the non-contact social needs of people. Therefore, research of online social network related problems become the consensus of today's society and are urgently needed. Information dissemination is the core function of online social network and it is the main research content. Opinion propagation has new characteristics compared to all other periods: on the one hand, a rapid spread of opinions, and on the other hand, a widespread dissemination. Because of the type and quantity of information in social networks, transmission speed is almost not subject to any restrictions, it is difficult to distinguish the authenticity of information. Therefore, information is easy to spread of the online social network in a big range of all kinds of social platform at the same time, so it brought a lot of problems, such as spread a lot of false and negative information and private information may be leaked. At the same time, these negative and false information is easy to cause a certain degree of negative impact on the society or individuals. For example, on April 23, 2013, a hacker broke the Associated Press Twitter account to publish false information, resulting in violent financial market turmoil and Wall Street encountered black for three minutes. Therefore, the problem of information dissemination should not be underestimated. This paper conducts an in-depth study on the problem of information dissemination in social networks and explores its model and mechanism. The specific research contents are as follows: 1. The development status and information dissemination of social networks. 2. Discuss the existing information transmission model in detail. 3. Discuss the research ideas of information dissemination from different perspectives.
