Abstract

The aim of this paper is to study the dynamic behaviour of a two-story shear building employing a standard measurement equipment and a mobile phone application. A building model is constructed using methacrylate for floors and aluminium alloy for columns. The model is calibrated using both measurement techniques. A control strategy based on a pendulum tuned mass damper is designed and installed, then, the improvements are assessed from damping estimation.
