Abstract
¿Qué pasaría si de repente todos los habitantes de Madrid desaparecieran? ¿Cuáles serían los procesos que irían deteriorando poco a poco la ciudad? ¿Qué infraestructuras y elementos urbanos aguantarían más el paso de los años y cuáles menos? El objeto de este trabajo es hacer una aproximación a los procesos de obsolescencia que podrían afectar a la ciudad de Madrid tras su hipotético y completo abandono en un rango temporal de 10.000 años, tiempo en el cual la ciudad sufriría un proceso de metamorfosis que culminaría con la transformación definitiva de la ciudad en territorio. Para ello se analizarán ejemplos de ciudades que quedaron deshabitadas en el siglo XX por diversas causas y que a día de hoy se encuentran en estado de ruina como Varosha, Gary o Prípiat. También se estudiarán las patologías que afectan a los materiales constructivos que conforman las ciudades actuales y se generará una línea temporal donde se resumirán en orden cronológico los principales eventos que podrían cambiar la fisionomía de la capital española. Por último se realizará un análisis gráfico y esquemático de zonas que se encuentran actualmente en estado de abandono en Madrid. What would happen if all the inhabitants of Madrid disappeared? What are the processes that would gradually deteriorate the city? Which infrastructures and urban elements would endure more over the years and which ones less? The purpose of this work is to make an approximation to the obsolescence processes that could affect the city of Madrid after its hypothetical and complete abandonment in a time lapse of 10,000 years, in which the city would undergo a process of metamorphosis that would end in the definitive transformation of the city into territory. For this, examples of cities that were uninhabited in the 20th century for various reasons and that today are in a state of ruin such as Varosha, Gary or Prípiat will be analyzed. The pathologies that affect the construction materials that make up today’s cities will also be studied and a timeline will be generated where the main events that could change the shape of the Spanish capital will be summarized in chronological order. Finally, a graphic and schematic analysis will be developed of areas that are currently in a state of abandonment in Madrid.
