Abstract

This work presents a friendly tool for designing the classic beam-to-column joints between steel profiles and concrete floors. That tool is composed of three spreadsheets that make it possible to completely design the three most used joints in building structures: metal plate, strapping rein-forcement and UPN profiles joints. The structural joints are defined in detail and their calcula-tion is based on the plastic check of the sections. By entering the load requirements, the tool calculates the necessary dimensions of each element, its minimum sizes and distances and the local and global resistances, by checking the requirements according to National and European Codes. These spreadsheets will be online available for their free use.
