Hedda Sterne: el lenguaje abstracto de la arquitectura

Abstract

En este Trabajo de Fin de Grado se abordan las situaciones intermedias que se dan entre la pintura abstracta y la arquitectura en la obra de Hedda Sterne (Rumanía, 1910- Nueva York, 2011). La investigación tiene como principal objetivo descifrar el lenguaje abstracto que se crea en el proceso de elaboración de una obra de arte en la que se representa el espacio. Para ello, se lleva a cabo una exploración sobre la versatilidad de la pintura para expresar aspectos tanto materiales como conceptuales, ligados a la percepción de la arquitectura. En concreto, esta investigación profundiza en el contexto artístico de la ciudad de Nueva York en el siglo XX, estableciendo conexiones entre las diferentes prácticas artísticas. A partir de lo anterior, se realiza un análisis de dos obras de Hedda Sterne vinculadas a la ciudad norteamericana: NY No. X, 1948 y New York 1955, donde se abordan conceptos tanto científicos como poéticos. Finalmente, se realiza un trabajo gráfico con el objetivo de esclarecer y poner en práctica los conceptos estudiados y las conclusiones extraídas = This Final Degree Project addresses the intermediate situations that occur between abstract painting and architecture in the work of Hedda Sterne (Romania, 1910- New York, 2011). The main objective of the research is to decipher the abstract language that is created in the process of making a work of art in which space is represented. For this, an exploration is carried out on the versatility of painting to express both the material and conceptual aspects, linked to the perception of architecture. Specifically, this research delved into the artistic context of New York City in the twentieth century, demonstrated connections between different artistic practices. Based on the above, an analysis is made of two works by Hedda Sterne linked to the North American city: NY No. X, 1948 and New York 1955, where both scientific and poetic concepts are addressed. Finally, a graphic work is carried out in order to clarify and put into practice the concepts studied and the conclusions drawn
