Abstract

The fundamental aim is the design of CWDM systems, working with a bit rate of 10 Gbits/s, by using the specific characteristics of the components to optimize the design of the network to insure that all the channels have similar behaviour, or, in other words, a similar quality Q factor. We design a system with 16 channels allocated between 1291 nm and 1591 nm with a channels separation of 20 nm, according to G 694.2 ITU-T Rec. We are taken into consideration, as well, the optical transmitted power in order to optimize it for each channel, improving the quality of the signal along the fiber.
