AD-DOC: desarrollo de técnicas de visualización

Resumen

Actualmente, con la existencia de internet, tenemos acceso a una gran cantidad de
información y podemos obtener prácticamente cualquier dato sobre cualquier tema. Esto
hace que el proceso de recolección de datos se vuelva cada vez más complejo. Esto es
especialmente problemático en el campo de la investigación científica, donde la búsqueda
de información es algo primordial. Es por ello que se ha vuelto imprescindible crear
herramientas que faciliten y den soporte al proceso de recolección de datos e información.
Para cubrir estas necesidades, investigadores del Laboratorio Decoroso Crespo y del
Grupos de Investigación “Interacción Persona-Ordenador y Sistemas Interactivos
Avanzados”, ambos de la UPM, han desarrollado durante estos últimos años varios
proyectos, uno de ellos es el proyecto llamado Ad-Doc, cuyo objetivo es investigar
diferentes técnicas de procesamiento y visualización de información de documentos para
dar soporte a la tarea de búsqueda de información dentro del ámbito científico.
Ad-Doc está formado actualmente por tres módulos, el primer módulo se encarga de
realizar el procesamiento de documentos utilizando diferentes algoritmos que extraen la
información y los almacena en una base de datos, el segundo módulo usa ontologías para
almacenar la información de los usuarios y de los documentos, el tercero modulo se
encarga de la visualización de la información procesada en los anteriores módulos.
El presente trabajo se centra en el módulo de visualización el cual busca diseñar e
implementar técnicas de visualización de información en entornos 2D y 3D en el marco
de un proyecto de recuperación de información en el ámbito de la investigación, además
de integrar los tres módulos para la implementación de un primero prototipo funcional
del sistema Ad-Doc.---ABSTRACT---At present with the existence of internet we have access to a big quantity of information,
we can obtain practically any data on any subject, this does that the process of collection
of data and investigation becomes increasingly complex. This is especially problematic
in the field of the scientific investigation, where the information research is something
paramount. it is thus that it has become indispensable create tools that facilitate and give
support to the collection process of data and information.
To cover these needs, researchers of the Decorous Crespo Laboratory and of the Groups
of Investigation “Interaction Person-Computer and Advanced Interactive Systems ”, both
of the UPM, have developed during these last varied years projects, one of them is the
project called Ad-Doc, whose aim is to investigate different whose aim is to investigate
different technical of processing and visualization of information of documents to give
support to the task of research of information inside the scientific field.
At present Ad-Doc Is formed by three modules, the first module is charged with make
the processing of documents using different algorithms that extract the information and
stores them in a database, the second module uses ontologies to store the information of
the users and of the documents, the third module is charged with the visualization of the
information processed in the previous modules.
The present work, centers in the visualization module which looks for to design and
implement technicians of information visualization in surroundings 2D and 3D in the
frame of a project of information recovery in the field of the investigation, in addition to
integrating the three modules for the implementation of a first functional prototype of the
system Ad-Doc.
