Levantando muros. Migraciones hacia Europa

Resumen

El presente trabajo aborda el tema de la inmigración y su gestión por parte de la zona políticamente delimitada que más migrantes recibe del mundo según datos de las Naciones Unidas: Europa. El objetivo es representar gráficamente los movimientos migratorios y todo lo que ellos conllevan para hacer posible una comunicación y transmisión más inmediata y palpable. Se han elaborado cartografías de estos movimientos, representando es soporte gráfico tanto el foco-origen de los movimientos como el foco receptor, representando también todo el trayecto que los une. Se mencionan eventos pasados, para crear una imagen de lo que sucede actualmente a la vez que se tiene una imagen de lo que ha sucedido con anterioridad. Se ha delimitado la Zona Schengen, sus fronteras más inmediatas y las fronteras exteriores que actualmente la están blindando para impedir la entrada de migrantes. También se hace un análisis de la situación política y social de los países que mayor flujo de migrantes emiten para poder comprender las causas que empujan a las personas a abandonar su país de origen. Se han analizado las rutas principales por las que es posible entrar a la Zona Schengen de manera irregular: la travesía del Mediterráneo occidental, Mediterráneo central, Mediterráneo oriental, atravesando zona de la península balcánica, atravesando la zona de los países del este y atravesando el Mar Negro. Todas ellas están identificadas por las instituciones europeas. Por último, se ha llegado a un mapa conclusivo donde se han unido y unificado todas los elementos que afectan a estos movimientos migratorios, intentando rastrear los movimientos también en el interior de la Zona Schengen, una vez sé que se ha simplificado el cruce de fronteras interiores. The present dissertation adresses the migration issue in the political defi ned space with the highest rates of irregular inmigration, acordind to publications by the United Nations: Europe. The main goal is to visually represent the actual migrant situation. This is done through cartographies and maps in order to achieve a better communication and to easily trasnmit the data. Through the elaboration and drawing of the data, the mapping of the migration movements shows a emitting point and a revieving point of the persons who migrates, as well as all of what joins the two together through the jouney. Past events are also adresses in order to better understand the actual situation and to create a global image, stating that this situation has taken place in the previous centuries. The Schengen area has been carefully defi nes through its most immediate borders as well as the external borders it has established in order to safeguard its territory. This borders also include sea borders and deals with third non-EU member contries that crate a second walls to prevent migrantes from arriving. Also, the physical wall are mentioned. The main migration routes to Europe have been analysed in detail. The central Mediterranean, the occidental Mediterranean and the oriental Mediterranean routes togethe with the Balkan, Easter nd Black sea route. All of them are recognised as such by the European Union and are extremely dangerous. Lastly, the dissertation fi nishes with a conclusion map where we can not only see all the journies to Europe and all that ther imply, but also movements of the people who arrive in search on greener pastures and move inside the Schengen Area heading northways.
