Espejismos: análisis del lenguaje descriptivo en la comunicación de los proyectos arquitectónicos en la ETSAM

Resumen

Esta investigación surge de una observación acerca de los proyectos arquitectónicos de grado de la ETSAM, que ponen de manifiesto una incoherencia entre lo que se ha dibujado y lo que se explica. Esto tiene dos posibles interpretaciones: realmente no sabemos comunicar lo que diseñamos o tratamos de mejorar nuestros proyectos a través de un lenguaje más complejo alejándonos del proyecto arquitectónico original. Esta segunda suposición puede derivar en la utilización de una terminología incorrecta y un abuso del lenguaje. De la misma manera se quiere comprobar si también se dan dichas situaciones en los proyectos de Máster. Esta situación se debe a dos motivos: por la relevancia del documento, y por ser el último eslabón antes de obtener la titulación. Estas condiciones suponen en el documento de Máster un nivel de madurez superior al de grado. Por ello, serán fuente documental básica de esta investigación. El ámbito interpretativo del estudio estará en el trabajo producido por diferentes autores a partir de la Modernidad y el Movimiento Moderno, contexto histórico en el cual se establece una base sobre cómo debería ser el lenguaje utilizado para que sea universal y transmisible. Se analizarán las palabras, oraciones o expresiones incoherentes, sin las que el discurso mantiene aún el sentido. Estas contradicciones lingüísticas representan estructuras complejas para aparentar mayor intelecto en el discurso. Se analizarán también tecnicismos, anglicismos o falsos neologismos, comprobando si su utilización es válida en el contexto que trata el autor. This investigation is born from an observation about the architectural projects of undergraduates in the ETSAM (Madrid’s Architectural School), that brings to light the inconsistency found between what is drawn and what is explained. This could have two interpretations: either we do not really know how to communicate our designs, or we try to exalt our projects through a more complex language distancing of the original architectural project. The latter can lead to an incorrect use of terminology and abuse of language. In the same way, it seemed appropriate to verify if this situation was also given in the master’s level due to the following reasons: the relevance of the documents as final master’s projects and because it is the last stage before obtaining the license to practice. These represent a different level of maturity, higher than that of the undergraduate level. In view of this facts, these documents became the fundamental documentary material of this investigation. The interpreting scope of this study will be found in the works produced by diverse authors from the Modernity and Modern Movement. These define the historical context in which a common base about the use of language is established, in order to make it universal and transmissible. The investigation will analyse the words, sentences, or incoherent expressions without which the writing would still make complete sense. These complex structures are produced in an attempt to appear as highly intellectual. Technical terms, anglicisms and false neologisms will also be thoroughly studied and its used verified in the context of the project.
