Reddit Community Analyzer: Herramienta para el Análisis Automatizado de Información en Subreddits

Resumen

En la actualidad, las redes sociales contienen una gran cantidad de información valiosa para la realización de estudios e investigaciones. En este contexto, este proyecto consistió en el desarrollo de una página web capaz de generar estadísticas y almacenar datos de Reddit de manera automática. Además, se añadió la opción de modificar y desplegar localmente la aplicación, ofreciendo facilidades y documentación para ello.

Para lograrlo, se aplicaron diversas técnicas y conocimientos aprendidos durante el Grado, y otros conocimientos adquiridos durante el desarrollo del proyecto, incluyendo técnicas y metodologías de desarrollo ágil, bases de datos noSQL (MongoDB), programación funcional y desarrollo web (frontend y backend).Los nuevos conocimientos adquiridos incluyen, entre otros, Natural Language Programming y Docker. Durante el proyecto, se resolvieron de manera efectiva diversos problemas y retos, resultando en una herramienta completamente funcional. El éxito del proyecto consiste en haber superado estos retos y haber creado una aplicación web valiosa y que cumpliera los objetivos. Se ha dejado margen a posibles mejoras futuras, como la adición de más estadísticas o el despliegue de la aplicación en la nube. El proyecto, por lo tanto, se puede considerar como un éxito. Se han reforzado conocimientos ya adquiridos durante el Grado, se han aprendido nuevos y se ha creado una página web útil y funcional.

Abstract:

Nowadays, social media platforms contain a significant amount of valuable information for conducting studies and research. In this context, this project seeks to develop a tool that analyzes and collects data automatically from the Reddit platform. The project consisted in the development of a website capable of generating statistics and storing data from Reddit automatically. Additionally, the option of modifing and deploying the application locally was provided, along with documentation and support for it.

To achieve this, various techniques and previous knowledge acquired during the degree were applied, as well as other knowledge acquired during the development of the project itself. This includes agile methodology techniques, noSQL databases (MongoDB), functional programming and web development (frontend and backend). The new knowledge acquired includes Natural Language Programming and Docker. Throughout the project, various challenges and problems were effectively solved, resulting in a fully functional tool. The project’s success lies in overcoming these challenges and creating a valuable web application that achieves the objectives. There is room for future improvements, such as the addition of more statistics or the deployment of the application in the cloud. Therefore, the project can be considered a success. It reinforced existing knowledge, it facilitated the acquisition of new skills and it resulted in the creation of a useful an functional website.
