Resumen

The aim of this project is to develop a comprehensive mobile application that caters to the emotional well-being and support of individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). The application incorporates various features, including a wide range of calming sounds and an integrated chatbot, to facilitate emotional regulation, communication, and engagement. The mobile application is built using React Native, allowing for cross-platform compatibility on both iOS and Android devices. It utilizes Firebase for real- time communication and data storage, ensuring the interaction between users and the chatbot. OpenAI’s language models, specifically the text-davinci-003 and GPT-3.5-Turbo models, are integrated to enable contextually appropriate responses and personalized conversations with the chatbot. The chatbot plays a crucial role in the application, serving as a virtual companion and support system for individuals with ASD. It provides a safe and non-judgmental space for users to express their emotions, seek guidance, and enhance their communication skills. The chatbot is tailored for individuals with ASD, ensuring a more empathetic and effective interaction. In addition to its functionality, the mobile application also prioritizes design aspects to create an inclusive and user-friendly experience for individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). The design considerations aim to address the sensory sensitivities and communication preferences commonly associated with ASD, ensuring that the application is accessible and comfortable for its target users. This project contributes to the field of assistive technology for individuals with ASD by developing a mobile application that combines calming sounds and an advanced chatbot. By addressing the specific needs of individuals with ASD and fostering emotional well-being, communication, and engagement, the application aims to empower individuals with ASD and enhance their overall quality of life.
