Subsuelo, Zócalo y Envolvente. Tres interfaces de mediación para grandes artefactos urbanos

Resumen

Las ciudades, condicionadas por el avance tecnológico
‘informacional’ del último siglo, han padecido la
‘esquizofrenia’ resultante de super[im]poner el
‘espacio de los flujos’ al ‘espacio de los lugares’.
Este trabajo analiza grandes artefactos que, debido a su
tamaño, se insertan no sin conflicto en tramas urbanas
para satisfacer funciones de gobernanza, transporte
e intercambio promovidas por estructuras de poder.
Subsuelo, zócalo y envolvente de dichos dispositivos
son propuestos como subsistemas arquitectónicos
clave que operan, en tres escalas diferenciadas, como
interfaces para su mediación social, espacial y temporal.
(Cities, conditioned by the ‘informational’ technological progress of the last century, have
suffered the ‘schizophrenia’ resulting from super[im]posing the ‘space of flows’ on the ‘space

This research analyses large artefacts that, due to their size, are inserted not without conflict
into urban fabrics, to fulfil governance, transport, and exchage performances promoted by power
structures.
Subsoil, plinth, and envelope of these devices are proposed as key architectural subsystems
that operate, on three different scales, as interfaces for its social, spatial, and temporal
